So I'm thinking of starting a blog about bipolar and what it's like to live with it. I already have a blog about what it's like to be gay, but I'm not sure if I should use the same account for a bipolar blog because my friends and some people I know know of my LGBT blog.

To those that blog, do you share your bipolar blog with people you know or do you remain anonymous?

What sorts of things do you blog about? Do you find it helps deal with your mental illness?

I've had a blog about being bipolar for about five years. I don't use my name in it, but I do link to it here (below). I share my blog with my friends. Once, I even shared with a pdoc. I've got quite the following- hundreds- and I don't know how that happened! (My blog keeps a tally of number of views to each post.)

I've been blogging for almost four years now (see link below). I don't use my name but all my friends and family know about it, as I publish on FB, LinkedIn and Google+. I've picked up several hundred followers over the years, which isn't bad considering bipolar blogs are a dime a dozen and there are a gazillion of them out there.

I've noticed that my focus has shifted somewhat as bipolar has occupied less and less of my life in the past couple of years. I talk a lot about my life with my late husband and my family now. Sometimes I'm really scattered and I write that as it happens, which makes my posts hard to follow but they're the most real posts I make.
