I have been on 10mg of zyprexa a night and it does not make me drowsy anymore. I can't get a hold of my Pdoc until Monday. I really need to sleep tonight would it be safe to take 15mg tonight. I am pretty sure my Pdoc would say yes. Has anyone noticed a difference between 10mg and 15mg?

I would have to take anywhere between 5 an 50 mgs of Zydis prn (sublingual Zyprexa) to sleep depending on my mania. Spring time is often a time when we get ramped up, and you might need a little extra help to sleep. My psychiatrist would tell me that the most important thing to keep mania down in consistent, regular sleep and to take more Zyprexa (and way safer than benzos). The more I took however, the more "hung over" in the morning I would feel.

Zyprexa isn't a sleep aid it's an antipsychotic...the drowsiness is a side effect that is supposed to fade with time........
