I had my first female guest over since i bought this place twelve years ago and it went super! We had a great time! I've had three male guests over the years and regretted every one. I swore off guests they were so ill-behaved. But having a female guest is swell! We chatted and laughed over tea.

She stayed just over an hour, so it wasn't too stressful. I just asked her over a few hours before so my time was limited for anticipatory anxiety. She brought her dog and he and my dog got all excited and wagging their tails vigorously and running all over! It was very merry!!!

I find i don't enjoy making plans too far in advance anymore. I just end up cancelling and re-scheduling three times and then abandoning the activity. This woman was ideal as she just lives two apartments over from me, so being relatively spontaneous is easier than if we'd had to drive to meet. Investing in my neighbors really has a good return!

I'm fine, Bizi. I had a groomer in my home to overhaul my precious dog and doesn't she look cute! The groomer put special pink dog-fur-chalk on her ears! She looks adorable! I watched the whole three-hour process and it was fascinating! I was so happy to share the experience with my dog, who gets stressed-out when groomed, even this time when it was in our own home and i was comforting her with treats and pats and my voice. It brought us closer together.

I got good ideas on how to bath her better. The groomer diluted the shampoo in a big squirt bottle -- what a good idea as i have found it hard to build up a good lather on my dog without using half a bottle of shampoo and that's not good for her delicate skin. So that was a revelation.

Both my dog and i got stressed-out tho with the sound of the blow-dryer, which was a special adjustable-speed K9 Fluffer model especially for dog grooming. The blow-drying took the most time. Next time i get her groomed i will go in the bedroom and close the door and put my iPod on while the blow-drying is going on.

This woman brought her own adjustable-height-table even. She brought her own towel too! What impressive skills she has! I've been bringing my dog in a taxi to PetSmart and this was sooooooo much better. It was a real ordeal for us both taking a taxi to PetSmart and back and then they could only shave her and she'd look scrawny for the longest time.

This time she looks super-cute and her legs are nice and fluffy. The groomer was a young woman with a speech impediment but i found once i got over the initial shock i was able to understand her. It's harder on the phone. In person it was fine.

So that was my afternoon! I studied Scrabble outside in the dogpark on our property this morning when we had nice sun and that went well. I'm learning the international lexicon and it's a big project so i was glad to make some progress today.

Other than that, i've just been relaxing in my comfortable home. I've made a lot of improvements this Spring and now i don't even like to go out anymore, it's so comfy here. I even cancelled my bus pass i go out so rarely. Staying home is a great way of saving money too. The only thing i buy really is food.

How 'bout yourself, Bizi? Take any more trips? How is Jeff?

jeff is getting ready for his concert tomorrow. A solo classical guitar concert will be held on campus at 7:30 pm central time. I am keeping my fingers crossed for a great performance! Send good thoughts his way please!
My rosacea has flared up on my right side of my nose (by my nose piece of my glasses) and nostril.
sigh
hoping it all goes away, I need to quit picking at it.

Good thoughts for Bizi's Jeff at the concert today! I looooooooooove classical guitar! You don't hear it that often. One woman at my old rec center played it and the often-frantic room would get so nice and calm. It promotes such a sense of well-being.

Hugs,

Jane.

I am excited for him, I usually only hear parts of his pieces. Very relaxing.
He has been practicing for months. I do hope he does well. He has performance anxiety.
