Just went to get a DVD off the bottom shelf. When my hand touched I said to my daughter "there are only books down here on the bottom shelf", my fingers feeling individual pages thick and thin. She said she thought I was going crazy. I felt again: hard plastic.

Anyone have a vivid tactile hallucination like this?

I have not, but my friend did. She experienced the feeling of ants and spiders were crawling all over her. It was dark in her room and she never saw them, but rather "only" felt them.

What do you typically do when you have hallucinations of any sort? Is that a cue to call your doc, take more meds, or anything?

I just write them down. I don't call my Pdoc unless they are making it so I can't function. I'm certainly not taking more zyprexa- I'm trying to get off the stuff!

Spiders crawling on me would drive me up a wall!

I have felt fingers running through my hair from front to back. So vivid that I have checked the mirror a few times to see if I saw anything. Hasn't happened since I got on risperdal.

I occasionally get tactile hallucinations, but they are of the "bug" variety. They suck.

I used to experience tactile hallucinations daily when I had my first manic episode (mixed). I felt my skin was crawling and would fixate on a sensation that felt like little drops were poking me on my arms, legs, torso. Sometimes it felt like water was dripping down my leg. It was a very uncomfortable feeling that distracted me. I thought it would never go away, but eventually, it did.
