What a great world we live in
Birds sing us such wonderful songs
The skies bring us water to drink
The earth nourishes us
I am so grateful to be a part of this... but a part of me wants to give back, to say thank you

How would I give back?

I know for me just reading your posts help. you are giving back to me!

I'm not going to give you a long lecture on "how you can save the Earth." But there are many little things you can do… most you probably already know about.

-recycle
-reduce waste
-save electricity (turn off the lights when you don't need them)
-buy some organic foods
-donate to organizations that are doing work to to save Earth, by preserving the rainforests and so on.

And also you could thank God for the beautiful world he made.

Go to meetup.com and join a group that does volunteer work.

You could stay in vibrational alignment with the birds, the sky, the sun and more-- emitting positive energy yourself. In other words, you are already giving back.

Start a garden.

Sending out positive thoughts is a good start. I want to help the homeless when I get well enough to risk trying something. I'm not sure how a person with my issues can accomplish it but I have an idea. What are you passionate about?

I like to knit. I've been knitting winter gear (toques, scarves & mittens) for the homeless shelter, and the women's shelter for next winter.
I have 30 sets ready but my goal is 100.
I am so blessed to be able to have a hobby that I love help people in need.

helping the homeless is a wonderful idea, and I hope you are able to do it.

the homeless shelter near me actually got me some stuff.. some sweets, and a coat, and a hat, think it was sweet.

they did it for like everyone within a certain distance of the shelter

I was a teen runaway and had a hard life for a while. I have such a good life and always remember those hard times. I guess I just take a little less so that I can give a little more. I think that, in some ways, it helps me be who I am

This makes a lot of sense.
Many of us care about issues and feel better somehow contributing to the cause we care so much about. It comes from our core values and who we are as individuals.
