Hey folks...

I started Abilify and so far it's really calmed me down.. Damn it I'm almost normal and feel... good.

I'm wondering if other people use Wellbutrin AND Abilify. It sounds like the goal was to get me off Wellbutrin.. but I'm really liking how I have the energy and focus given to me by it.. and also the calming effect of Abilify.

The only issue I'm having is sleep. I've been having very interrupted sleep.. waking up multiple times in the night. It's only been like 2 weeks on it.. will this let up??

Both my husband and son are on lamictal, abilify and welbutrin. The restlessness went away after a little while. Are you taking it at night or day time.

You're just starting to reach a stable level of abilify at 2 weeks, so give it some more time to figure out what its up to. Gives me a good amount of energy while putting an end to the paranoia and intrusive thoughts. I rely on the depakote for stability though. I wouldn't trust myself without it at this point.

Yes I take 450 mg of Wellbutrin and 5 mg of Abilify. It does get better. I take my medicine during the earlier part of the day. I hope you continue to do well with this combination.

Thanks folks. And yes.. I meant to ask about AM versus PM. Right now I THINK I prefer taking it later in the day (2 or 3pm).. but am wondering how it will work if I take it right before bed....

We take ours at night but if your not sleeping I'd take it into morning.

I'd second the recommendation to try the AM dosing and see what happens with the sleep.

Wellbutrin caused some mania type symptoms for me and then settled down in time. Give it a few more weeks....you need to fix this sleep thing if it continues to go on. Hopefully it will balance out. I have so many bottles of Wellbutrin around here cause I've been out on it then couldn't handle how activating it was. Now that I've found an AP I can tollerate I may add it back in once I finally stabilize. It's a good med but yeah, it messes with sleep and causes some agitation. (((Hugs)))

I'm on the Wellbutrin and Abilify combination in the morning. I probably need to increase my dosages though; it doesn't seem to be working 100%. I already take some drugs, including happy pills, at night so it made sense to do the Wellbutrin XL and Abilify in the morning.

I have periods of interrupted sleep as well, but it could just as easily be attributed to my sleep apnea.

Wellbutrin gave me insomnia when I first started it.

The Abilify is my main concern. I've been on Wellbutrin for a while now.. and while I may have went a wee hypo and was only getting 4-6 hours.. at least they were SOUND hours. If I get sound sleep it's all good. For a bit. ;-) But this waking up every few hours is no good.

Yea Wellbutrin is activating so I take one dose in the AM and one at night. The restlessness goes away eventually.

I really haven't had issues with Wellbutrin in terms of interrupted sleep... It was the abilify that is affecting me in that regard.

I take wellbutrin, abilify and lamictal all generic.
Abilify at night with Vistaril and 12.5mg xanax, but I'm only sleeping 5 or 6 hrs.
I need to sleep more than that to feel good. I'll change the abilify to mornings too.

How does the vistaril work for you?? I'm on 100mg and it does absolutely nothing for me so I told my pdoc to just stop writing for it. Benadryl did more than vistaril for me.

I think is working. In 30-60 I go to sleep. At least is much better than trazodone. And is not adictive. But I made a change in meds that is not letting me sleep like before. I was taking a single vistaril already. Now I need two.
I'm taking 12.5mg xanax too. That might be it. I'm scared of going without it totally.

I take my Wellbutrin, "SR" formulation in the early morning and again mid-day.
It's given it's most activating properties before bedtime.
I think I'd take the Abilify also in the early AM.

I hope this goes well for you, whatever you decide, and you enjoy some quality sleep!
