Perhaps all the stress of moving is getting to me. I'm starting to have psychotic symptoms again. I am noticing "signs" in my environment that are designed to warn me. Beware, it's coming. I'm also feeling overly sensitive to lights. I feel there is an evil entity watching me through them. Pdoc and tdoc both know but aren't super worried for some reason.

Please just make this stop. I want to live my life without psychosis.

i dont know what to say, sadly. try to get plenty of sleep. when I get that way, I reach out to family and genuine friends. Doesn't have to be about "symptoms," just....connection. I pray, too (Christian here).

On the psych drugs front, sometimes taking a benzodiazepine can calm things down, for a little while. There's been research here and there that shows that sufficient doses of benzodiazepines can help psychosis, to a point.

Hey. I don't have much advice but I just wanted to send some positive thoughts your way. I do not suffer from psychosis but I would imagine keeping in close contact w/ pdoc and
T and somebody supportive like a good friend during this time is important.
Moving and other stressors, even positive and exciting ones like this, can bring on an episode. So just be aware and don't hesitate to seek out help if u need it. Stay safe.

Oh man I wish I could help or even know what to say. I don't experience psychosis but certainly feel for those that do.
I hope your move goes smoothly and quickly and you find a sense of balance very soon.

I only experience it in bad episodes and that is hard enough. I can't imagine have to deal with it almost chronically.
I am sorry you are going through this. stress is such a ***** sometimes.
we are here to listen!

I took some clonazepam, but the most it'll do is help me to sleep.

Thanks for the responses; it means a lot. Psychosis sucks.

Hello
I just wanted to share that I observed my husband's symptom's beginning when he was working on his written thesis and thesis presentation. The psychosis seemed to be brought on by stress and anxiety. The doctor prescribed Abilify at first but it made the mania worse and he was switched to 15 mg of Zyprexa. It seems to have helped stabilize the delusions and he is seeing a psych 2x week. Is there a counselor that you may speak to at your program? I hope things calm down for you

I don't really have experience with psychosis (at least I don't think), but my heart goes out to you. It has to be very difficult to live with. Do you have support people you can reach out to?

Have you set up psychiatric care for when you'll be abroad?

bioChE: Apparently the American University at Cairo has counseling services, so I'm going to use them. They can prescribe me my medications and everything.
