Interested in hearing what you all that have taken it have experience and at what dosages.

I've been on 900mg for a few years without problems, but had it raised to 1500mg this week. I feel like ****. Taking myself down to 1200mg to see how that goes.

I'm not on Trileptal. When I'd tried it, I could not tolerate it.

I'd just wanted to tell you I hope the 1200mg. works okay for you.

Thanks for this!

I can't remember what dose I was on but it gave me double vision. And it really raised my appetite. I was starving all of the time! And no one believed me when I said it was making me fat!

Oh my gosh. I have been getting a lot more hungry since my dose was raised now that I think about it. I thought I was going crazy because the 900mg didn't affect my appetite at all. It is really annoying because I don't actually feel like eating due to depression. Pretty much just eat to shut my stomach up.

Happy I'm not the only one! My doctor at the time and pharmacist kept on telling me it's weight neutral and couldn't be making me fat! When I went off it I lost weight.

It actually seems to be helping the depression a bit. I'm actually out of bed! It helped with depression when I first started it too. Guess I'm lucky. I think my pdoc was just trying to get me to do something because I was getting mixed. I had refused his suggestions of lithium or depakote.

Yesterday I was really lightheaded, spaced out, tired, and nauseous. I got a really weird feeling of being too calm/numb. Also, and I thought I was crazy until I read the side effect list, I almost feel like I have a cold. Only not really. Stuffy/runny nose, my throat is hoarse, have a bit of a dry cough. It's sooooo weird. I've been on the 900mg for like 2-3 years with ZERO side effects. I feel better today having backed down to 1200mg, but still have the cold-like symptoms.

That is a huge jump. I thought dose increases/decreases were to be done in 300mg increments. Dose changes should be gradual from my experience, however. Please be careful. And as many of of you know, I love the trileptal. I hope it works for you!
Thanks for this!

Why did you refuse Lithium and Depakote?

I refused the lithium because I didn't want to have to deal with bloodwork and worry about toxicity and other side effects. Depakote because of weight gain and other side effects. I would rather first try raising dosages of my current meds, as they've worked so well for me up until now.
