I started taking it with a proper meal a few weeks ago. Interestingly I know it's working because I get horribly nauseous afterwards.

I can take it with or without food. I know the absorption is significantly better with food, but sometimes it's inconvenient and I just don't care. I don't notice a difference either way.

You're supposed to take Latuda with 350 calories. The difference it makes with absorption is considerable; without the correct calorie amount you're not getting anywhere near an effective dose.

When administered with food, the Cmax and AUC are increased 3 times and 2 times respectively. It's not a matter of getting an "effective" dose, it really depends on your particular dose and your body's response to it.

I think Latuda dosing is kind of like shooting darts while drunk. You're trying to hit the target of reducing the symptoms of bipolar depression, but hitting the bullseye doesn't really matter to you. I've been on doses ranging from 20mg to 80mg, and I really haven't found there to be much of a dose-dependent response. Even though it's got a dosing profile up to 160mg, there's no clinical data to show any symptom improvement beyond 80mg.

IMHO, it seems to be doctor preference. I think it helps me, but TBH I don't give a crap how much I get into my system. I'll continue to take it with or without food at will. Latuda

As long as you're aware of what you're doing, do whatever you want. If it makes you sick to take it naked, don't do that. If you care about consistent dosing, take it with food. By the way, absorption is based on the number of calories, and is Independant of fat content in the meal.

I was never told, and never took, latuda with food. It didn't do anything to me. Then again it didn't do anything for me at all so who knows lol.

I was forced to take Latuda with food in IP, but sometimes I got away with taking it without. I didn't notice a difference. I took it with a snack before bed, which was definitely less than 350 calories.

I usually take mine after breakfast because of that. If I took it with lunch or dinner I'd be screwed, because those times can vary.

I take with food just based off the Big Pharma as I don't think they are also in food production too.
