I see my t on Wednesday for the first time in months. We used to mainly talk bp, anxiety, and goals for me. Nothing really personal. I have something that I can't talk to anyone else about and wondering if I should bring it up. It doesn't really have anything to do with mental health. I'm also in fear of being judged for it.

Don't know what to do.

I doubt you'd get any judgment there.

Just an idea but you also might try to post in the psychotherapy forum. They know a lot about T issues there.

Good luck!

Important to have at least one person in your life you can open up to honestly. I finally did that with my family doc for the first time in 25 years! He came to the conclusion of bipolar 2. I was always afraid he would judge me and I am so grateful for his kindness and understanding and seeing me at a moments notice when things were tough.

You may feel a whole lot better to share. Good luck

Oh, thanks. I'm just used to posting here lol.

Anyways the reading I'm hesitant is because I don't want to be looked at differently. It has nothing to do with my bipolar.

If there's anyone you can safely talk to about it it's your t. It's clearly bothering you and anything which bothers you can affect your mental health, so there's your hook. Don't let it nag you!

When I was seeing my therapist we talked about lots of things not bipolar related. It was good to get things off my chest and she was helpful at seeing things from another perspective and also really helped me with goal setting.

I laid it all on the line with my pdoc this week (I don't have a therapist). I told him about my recent hypomanic episode, trying to give myself a "drug holiday" a couple of weeks ago, even the fact that I think about sex all the time. This is stuff I never told my favorite pdoc when I was with him. Not that he would've judged me, only that he was almost a much a friend as a clinician and I didn't want to disappoint him. This one, I feel like I can tell him anything and he'll just sit there and listen, then give me some good advice. He's older (probably mid- to late 60s) and I just know he's heard it all.

So yes, tell your T everything. That's what they're there for. You'll almost certainly feel a lot better. I do.

My T has been around since dirt was made. He's heard it all, so I don't have a problem.
