I just posted a message about my unlove for prednisone in another thread, yet I know its dug me out of a deep physical hole a couple times, so it made me think.

The side effect being uniformly very annoying auditory hallucination & irritable mania (both last, and reported to me by third party afterward). Has anyone here been given predisone with a boost/addition of an AP such that the steroid could do its work without making them bat-xxxx crazy?

Just curious....

I live with BP II. I take prednisone 15mg each day. I can get by at that dose without psychosis. When I've had severe exacerbations, an ER doc might give me 100mg IV and I taper down from there. My sanity becomes more tenuous the higher the dose and the longer I'm at a high dose.
