Today we had to take my brother to the ER for something sports related. It cost us around $250 that we don't really even have.

Now I can't go to the ER for anything. We don't have the money. And now I have to wait a few more weeks for meds I need.

I hope your brother is okay.

I am very sorry this means you have to wait on having your needs met.

Will you be okay while waiting?

He's doing better, thanks!

I hope I will be okay. It's just that usually hallucinations lead to suicidal thinking. And I don't want it to get that far.

250.00 for a ER is cheap !

I feel you should still go... Hospitals are willing to make payment arraingments..

You have needs that need to be met now rather than later.

Hope your brother heals quickly

I think you should go to the ER if you need to as well. Hopefully they'll make payment arrangements. Are you paying for your medications? A lot of the pharmaceutical companies have patient assistance where they charge a nominal or no fee for the prescription depending on income. Best wishes.

Sorry I didn't see the first comment. I need seroquel.

And while we're here I'll see about payment plans. Thanks.

Usually if you are admitted there is no co-pay for the ER. You'd have to check your policy but that's fairly standard, at least around here.

If you are on Seroquel XR you can get it through patient assistance through Astra-Zeneca. No fees at all and if you don't fully meet their requirements they'll grant exemptions to let you in. If you are on regular Seroquel there isn't patient assistance but there is Rx Outreach | Patient Assistance Program, Discount Prescription Drugs My computer is crappy so I can't look it up but they have very low cost for 3 month supplies of meds. Some of mine were cheaper for 3 months than 1 month at the regular pharmacy.

I'm not currently on it. I just know it was the only med that stopped the hallucinations. But thank you!

I asked if I could just do it while we were at the hospital but the answer was no. I have to wait until my appointment.

Mid/endish July. I might text my mom when she's alone and see if she'll take me.

When you are in the SSI process it will only help your case if you have consistent appointments with med changes or an IP stay. I think 2 IP stays in a few months made a difference with getting rapid approval when I applied. When I had to show I was still disabled last year it was pretty easy with 2 recent hospitalizations, a huge med change recently and having been extremely unwell with lots of therapy and pdoc appointments to prove it.

If you don't have insurance and go to the ER they will connect you with a low-income program.

For Seroquel, free or discounted, go to the Astra-Zeneca website.
