Ok so here goes. Dunno if I'm just weird or does anyone else experience a crazy heightened sense of smell?
Past couple of months I absolutely crave the smells of the subway, bus diesel, gardening mulch, jet fuel, underground parking garages , damp basements. I can seriously just stand there inhaling when I come across them and they feel intoxicating like a drug.
Please be someone out there that can relate!!!!???

I can. It only happens when I'm manic, but yes, I do experience smells more intensely. Especially the good ones.

I also get this when manic. Sometimes I even hallucinate smells.

Interesting.
When my mood changes, I am put off by most scents/odors. They overwhelm me.

Not sure it's relate to my BP -- but I have times when I can't smell anything (when not stuffed up), or when I smell things very intensely -- even to a point where my wife claims I smell stuff that's not there.

take my experience with a grain of salt I guess.

I experience heightened senses when manic. The world really comes alive. Images are sharper and smells are stronger.

It's known as hyperosmia. I have it. More when I was on lithium. A pain in the butt.
Can't wear perfume, neither can anyone next to me.
