I woke this morning with an angry red full-body lithium rash, and my pdoc didn't return my call. Anyone else have experience with this? Did you suck it up, lower the dosage, or stop altogether? I took a similar dose of lithium many years ago and never experienced anything like this. I'm looking forward to whatever surprise tomorrow might bring. I'd be happy with either lithium weight loss or lithium penis enlargement.

I don't think I've ever had a rash from lithium, but you're funny.

I'd stop taking it, too, and probably go to the ER. That's just me, though. I tend to be a hypochondriac.

I recently had rash due to Tegretol and ended up in ER. They prescribed two different antihistamines: Pepsid and Benadryl; the idea is that the two block different "histamine channels", which is why you need both just in case. I think you can get both over the counter; Pepsid needs to be taken before food - probably 30 minutes before, but follow the instruction. I would get those immediately as they cannot hurt and might help. I have been on Lithium for years; larger doses gave me acne, but on lower doses I am OK. I never had rash, but acne is a type of a skin reaction, so...

Very sorry to hear about it.

Update: I'm an idiot. I switched beta blockers five days ago, and the rash could be from that.

Lefty, how's the rash? Interfering with your love life? Lithium rash
