Lately I feel like I NEED to sleep. Every day several times a day. I come home from what I'm doing to sleep. I never feel refreshed.i wish coffee would help but it doesn't.

I feel sleepy these days too.

My second therapist always told me how important it is not to oversleep or take naps during the day, as he said both can lead to tiredness. Are you doing either of those things?

Is it correct to assume your meds have stayed the same and no changes have been made? Or changes to routine? Sometimes one small change throws me out of wack and I'm more tired than usual. And diet can have an effect too, for me at least.

One of the most helpful things I did to improve my sleep was a CBT clinic at a university here. Was all about good sleep hygiene etc but the key for me to promote good sleep is going to bed and waking at the same time 7 days a week. Can be tough to follow but when I did it, it helped.
Good luck Moose hope you sleep well tonight zzzzzzzzzzzz

Have you ever tried stimulants? My meds make me drowsy during the day. Vyvanse is my savior.

My Pdoc doesn't seem to believe in stimulants.

No stimulants and no benzos? I'd find a new doc.

Stimulants can be very dangerous for people with bipolar disorder because the stimulant can cause manic psychosis.

I wish I could take a stimulant the closet thing I can take is wellbutrin. I deal with being tired all the time it's much better than a manic episode.

That's a lot of work. My past three pdocs don't prescribe benzos unless absolutely necessary. Everything else is tried first. And stimulants, that's never been an option for me either.

That being said. What has your caffeine intake been like lately, Moose?

You could be overtired, too. I get that way when I sleep too much. Usually have to do something to stay up.
