I have an appointment at the end of August with a new psychiatric nurse practitioner. It's taken me so long with so many rejections, and I am overjoyed!
Hugs from:

Thanks for this!

Congratulations! Will they work with the clozapine?

I'm not quite sure. I think so because on my intake form I told them I was taking clozapine, but I'm half expecting going to my first appointment and hearing her say she doesn't prescribe it. If that happens ill just ask her to taper me off it. My last pdoc said I probably don't need such a heavy duty med anymore anyways.

I'm so glad you found someone finally! I know how hard making all those calls had to have been. Hopefully she'll be willing to prescribe clozapine or find something else, whatever feels right. It's too bad so many prescribers are wary of clozapine; getting on the registry is not that hard and it's not like looking at the lab result takes a ton of time. And while annoying at times, the stuff does work.

Do you have enough clozapine to make it until you see her?

No, but I see my GP who said he'd give me a months worth at the end of July.

That's great! I would hate for you to be forced off it even if you are ready to try a less frustrating med changed slowly and with the ability to use clozapine to get you through the changes.
