I have not been social for the last 6 months. I feel worn out in a lot of conversations and going in public. Friday I celebrated my niece's birthday party. Saturday I went to a family reunion then to my grandparents' house. Sunday I went to church and then visited my other grandparents and aunt and uncle. Today I am so tired and lazy. I don't want to talk to anyone. I don't want to answer the phone. I just want to watch youtube videos and snuggle with my dogs. It's like being social is a drain.

Right here with you. My mom was upset because I didn't go to the big family reunion and went to my in-laws bbq this weekend. Just explained that I couldn't handle 200+ people and opted for a dozen instead. She, being my awesome mom, understood, even though she really wanted me there especially since my cousin who was the same age just passed. Take care of you, first, we're no good to anyone burnt out.

Wow you've been totally busy, busy, busy! You've packed in 6 months worth of activity for some into one weekend. No wonder you want to hibernate. Nothing wrong with a little seclusion and restoring the battery. Socializing can definitely be draining especially if you have to make all that small talk. Take care and enjoy your quiet time today.

If I go to events I need a day or two to recover. It's not a bad thing; it's just what I need to do.

It's normal to sometimes feel social burnout, especially after a string of social events and obligations. I'm hitting a point of social burnout, so I can relate, although mine has been brought on by some situational stuff, which is leading to depression. Allow yourself to have time to yourself, without feeling forced to being a social butterfly.

I know what you mean by burnout. I feel I suck at small talk these days.

Ya sometimes small talk is almost physically painful to engage in.

I feel better socializing with my dogs than with people.

Are you introverted? I am. I need alone time, regularly...even when I feel ok. I'm amazed you did all that you did! Rest up, you need it and deserve it.

I'm with glamslam. I'm introverted and need alone time. 3 events in 3 days would have put me out of commission for awhile. You needed the rest.

I'm introverted unless it's a good friend. I need one-on-one time with a good friend, but yes, I like being alone,

I relate and being introverted is fine. We just need our "alone time."

What do you like to do during your alone time that is restorative?

I have a deep interest in things that are intellectual. Ted Talks, reading textbooks about biochemistry. I also like spending time with my dogs.
