So... my old boss totally f_cked me over. Promised me a promotion, but never gave it to me and never gave me my yearly raise (the yearly raise is part of the company policy, even if it means raising your salary by a measly $10). Also gave me no bonus.

He kept complaining about my "fluctuations in performance", which I didn't tell him were due to bipolar episodes. (I would never admit to having BP to my employer.) But 0 bonus, 0 raise, and no promotion? He didn't forget about those things, either, since I brought it up to him twice. He also treated me like a worthless POS who was incapable of wiping their own @ss.

My new boss said what my old boss did was completely unfair, unethical, and against company policy. He said that I will get my promised promotion AND a large raise! All to happen in October. AND he retroactively gave me an awesome bonus, too, after seeing my accomplishments! (Part of me thinks my old boss was sexist since he always gave the guys on the team hefty bonuses and nice raises, but never did it for women no matter how hard they tried -- at least that's the vibe I got from talking to other women on the team.)

I'm glad you have a new boss who sees that what the old boss did was wrong!

Wow! That is WONDERFUL news! Congratulations on doing your job well, and getting recognized for it, especially when it's a hell of a lot harder to perform at your job having a MI.

God bless! So happy for you!

My boss is retiring in February, and is acting like he is already retired.
He disappears for hours during the day, and then leaves early
We all have to cover the extra workload.
Four of us have complained to his boss about it, but...nothing
I hate my job...mostly I just hate my boss

That's great! What a difference a new boss makes huh? My husband has a new boss who doesn't appreciate him. He'll never have a better manager than my husband so he's pretty stupid. But my husband, who's been with this company 31 years is now miserable. Which triggers my depression and anxiety.
