I'm 24 and have been dealing with depression since I was only 12 years old I started seeing a psychiatrist when I was 15 and was diagnosed bipolar at the age of 20

Currently I'm on

Rexulti (2 MG)
Neurontin (1600 MG)
Trileptal (600 MG)

None of them are helping with the depression side of bipolar one bit or even the anxiety.

The only meds I've ever felt worked for me in the past were benzodiazepines, specifically Klonopin. I just feel so right when I take them, but my Pdoc won't prescribe them, she says "It's like me handing you alcohol every day".

I just want a happy life, and I every day I deal with depression is a day lost. I don't connect with people, I think negatively and physically I feel run down when I'm depressed. I just want it to end and that I can feel better I've hated taking pills but at this point if ANYTHING can help with the depression I'm willing to try it!

Hello. Welcome to PC. Yes, I'd be in tough shape without my Xanax, Klonopin and Valium. You could try another pdoc who does describe them. You could go in and have a medication re-evaluation to see if another combo might help you out. Sending big hugs.

I get tons of depression. The meds that are working for me are pristiq, Latuda and celexa. It's been my magic combo for the depression side.

It's a shame your doctor won't prescribe meds that will improve your quality of life. Wellbutrin and lamictal work well for my depression with an occaisonal xanax thrown in there.

The last time I was in IP my pdoc used Latuda and Viibryd. Expensive as hell, but it worked. I eventually went off the Viibryd and lowered the Latuda. I'm doing pretty well now.

That's just my experience. YMMV

I spend more time depressed than anything else. Latuda has helped. It is very expensive, even with insurance. But it has lifted my mood and stopped the auditory hallucinations.
