How long does it take for it to start working? Following you guy's comments on sleeping, I've figured, why not. From what I've heard it's not a hard drug so my mother bought me 30 capsules of a medicine called "sweet dreams" it's a mixture of melatonin, l-theanin and and herb called melissa in english. Everything is 100mg except the herb (3mg) Well.. it says that it needs 30 minutes to make you sleep like a baby. So I tried setting up a bed routine, I brushed my teeth, washed my hands, did my usual things with locking the door and opening the blinds, and to my horrors, turned off my laptop. And I drank one.. and 30 minutes started going. After some time I got up from frustration and realised that I have been just laying there for a hour. At one point I was completely paraliysed with fear, and that is completely real. I don't know when this was supposed to knock me out. But it didn't. Another sleepless night.

It's not supposed to knock you out. If it works for you it will slowly ease into sleep. Melatonin does not work for me but YMMV.

My pdoc told me melatonin would take about 2 hours to kick in. I bought without noticing a rapid release kind and it works in 30 minutes if it is going to work. I don't know about the combination pill or the other ingredients in it. It sounds like you did everything right though. Keep trying for a few nights to see if you can get a routine that helps you fall asleep as the med kicks in.

Melatonin works for me sometimes and other times it doesn't. If it's going to work, it usually does within a half hour to an hour. After that I have to go to something stronger.

My pdoc has me on melatonin and it does nothing for me whatsoever. I hope you find something that helps. Sending big hugs.

understand why the docs want everyone to try it - cheap, safe and natural. But the success rate seems pretty low. It does nothing for me.

I would try taking it a bit longer. One day is not usually long enough to fix a sleep issue. I gave it 2 weeks then stopped because it didn't do a thing. Good luck!
