I have been taking 4.5 mg of Vraylar since March. It greatly helps my irritability and improves my mood. I have noticed a few side effects. It has caused about a 5 lb weight gain, forgetful memory and some uncontrolled movements. Does anyone else have experience with this medication?

BTW
I am brand new to the forum. So hello!!
i am a lady in my late 40's from the midwest. We happen to have a shortage of doctors here so it is very difficult to get a psych doc....

I just started taking it a week ago. I just started on 3mg on Thursday. I *think* It's improving my hypomania. Too soon to tell. No immediate side effects.

You need to tell your dr about the movements, though. You don't want to get tardive dyskenisia. Cogentin might be able to help with the movements.

I've been taking Vraylar for around 6 months. I have a jerk now and then, usually when I'm lying down to go to sleep. Otherwise no side effects here. I'm on 3 mg as well. I like the fact that it is a small capsule so it goes down easily. Definitely has helped my mania.

I'm not experienced with this Jed but agree with an above poster about reporting effects to doc. Good luck and welcome to PC. I hope you find it helpful.
