I would very much like to witness the solar eclipse. It would be so very nice to witness a phenomenon that hasn't happened in the US in nearly 100 years. I even live in a county that falls under the center-line path of totality.

Sadly, I don't have access to the special eye wear. And I have this hesitation or social anxiety to find the best or even a good spot to view it, even if I did have the eye wear, and interact with the outside world -- I've been pretty isolated for several months, now.

I like things pertaining to astronomy. Recently, within the last couple of years, there was an event regarding the Perseid Meteor Shower...I missed that too, but that was because I lived in a big city at the time and it was near impossible to see the night sky due to the light pollution. And I was too anxious to drive out of the city...I didn't know my way around that state at all.

Is anyone else going to check out the eclipse?

Yes we are driving up from south Florida. We already have our glasses and solar binoculars. We are driving up Saturday morning.

Wow. Are y'all going to northeast GA? That's going to be a long drive. I saw in one city in GA that's in the center-line path that they're having basically a festival. Bluegrass concert, 5K, etc.

I'm in Kentucky and will get to see a 96% eclipse. Im so excited!!!

Check local libraries-some still have glasses!

I got my glasses about a month ago Amazon is wiped out now. If you can't get glasses you can go to a welding supply store and ask for shade 14 glass.

Yeah but not the same. My son's girlfriend got a solar filter for her camera so she can take pictures of it. She figures that's worth an A for a high school photography project.

We'll have about 95% totality or better here. I'm looking forward to it but may have left it late to get eclipse glasses. * Grabs a cardboard box, duct tape and nail *

I could not care less about the eclipse. So the moon passes in front of the sun. So what? It will be just another day in the life for me. A lot of people are going to go blind staring at it with inadequate eyewear. I'm glad I don't live in the path of eclipse totality.

Don't know how much I'll see here in Tennessee. Close to Northeast Georgia. May travel there. I understand Woolly Bugger...I asked my brother if he wanted me to get him some glasses. His response? Why, who cares?

We'll be getting 80% where I live. My daughter and son-in-law are driving up to Oregon to see 100%. I don't know...the whole thing causes anxiety for me. I'm not very excited about it.

I live right in the path of totality, in Oregon. A million people are expected to visit my state, which is equal to about a quarter of our population. I can't believe people would travel so far to see a phenomenon that will last all of two minutes. Gas prices have risen over 30 cents a gallon...nothing like a little price-gouging to make life interesting. Stores are having trouble keeping adequate supplies of staples too. It's gonna be an unholy mess for the next few days. Glad I don't have to go anywhere except my grandson's birthday celebration.
