Hello all I have been having severe sleep issues the past three weeks. Out of no where one night I was unable to sleep and I knew I was in trouble sense this has happened before. My pdoc put me on seroquel 50mg and it worked for sometime but started to have side effects and stopped talking it. He prescribed trazodone but that didn't work either at 100mg. I went to see a general physician and he signed me up to a sleep psychologist for CBT but that won't start till Oct.2. In the mean time he gave me zaleplon (Sonota) 5mg and I tried it last night and it didn't work either. I got frustrated and took the seroquel 75mg with it and hours later even took my moms ambien 10mg and still didn't put me to sleep. I'm getting very worried I start my new job on Wednesday and really need to get this sleep under control before any mania occurres because of it. Can anybody help me with this or have experienced this as well?

I am a life long insomniac..

I finally found that Doxipin, valium and Melatonin is a great combo for me. No hangover. ( for now it works great, things eventually stop working for me.

Maybe ask your Pdoc

Sorry your struggling .. Insomnia Blows !

Do you have "on call" access to your pdoc?
I hope so. Please contact your pdoc asap.

As you've noted, it's so important you get some sleep, asap.

Do you use an interactions checker when you add in various meds?

Pharmacists can be helpful; yet, are not always available.

You may already know this. I'll note it anyway, just incase:
www.drugs.com has a drug interactions checking program avail. online.

Please be safe.
I hope you sleep well and with ease.

A chronic insomniac too. Melatonin and Ativan together help some. Regular sleep meds don't help

I've had insomnia on and off for years. I use to take ambien for it, but it left me feeling so hungover the next day when I woke up so I stopped it. Tried melatonin but it didn't seem to do anything for me. Nothing has really worked. I've just come to except that I will go through this from time to time. But somehow I manage.

Ativan. Around 1mg, sometimes 1.5. will do the trick.

I had terrible insomnia and it was making everything so much worse. My doctor tried a lot of things before he prescribed Geodon to help me sleep and I sleep like a baby now. I hope you get some quality sleep soon.

I am also having issues with insomnia over the past three weeks.
I take several bedtime meds, all sedating. I have added temazepam 30 mg and am still having insomnia. Will talk to my pdoc on Monday.

Seems like many of us are experiencing insomnia lately.

I hope you find safe relief. Soon.

The side effects left me feeling sedated all day also really bad dry mouth. But I took 100mg last night after 4am cause the other meds wasn't working then I finally got sleep off of it. I really don't wanna gain any weight or have any mental side effects from it but if it's the only thing that gets me to sleep I will have to take it until I find something else that works.
