Yes but we finally increased my magnesium to 1000 mg and added B12 and they have become more rare and much less painful.

What is the hardest part of the holidays for you?

All the time. We work on this in therapy constantly.

Do you put up a Christmas tree?

I do.

(with a little train underneath... it's cute!)

question:

if you could go back to the day you were diagnosed, is their a question/ questions you wish you could have asked afterwards?

I haven't confirmed from a doctor that I've experienced a mixed episode but I've experienced at least something similar. I would feel like everything was nails on a chalkboard. I wanted to crawl out of my skin. I needed something I couldn't describe. I would pace because I had to DO something but I didn't think anything would help. I would rock myself to try and help or drag my nails gently on my legs back and forth. I felt like a mess of confusion. I wasn't happy, I wasn't sad I wasn't anything I can describe. It was like torture. I was tired but I had energy to expend. Super bizarre really.

Q1: I can't think of any questions left on the day of diagnosis.

Q2: It' time to worry about hypomania when it is substantially disrupting your life/safety/family/relationships.

New Question: Does your family accept your diagnosis?

no not at all.

question:

when you are with a friend who doesn't know you, when, if at all, is it appropriate to mention your diagnoses?

I don’t mention it at all unless we become really good friends.

Do you mention your diagnosis at work?

Just one co worker knows. (Unless she’s told others but nothings been said to me). Sometimes I wish I could just be open about it, maybe others would learn something and who knows maybe others at work also have MI.

Q. How often do you sleep well without a sleep aid?

Right now messy due to a combination of I'm sick and I have 2 kittens who like to re-arrange everything they can. It's usually better than this.

Do you have a good relationship with your family doctor?

Not that I can think of.

Which is harder to cope with, physical or mental illness?

Shower.

Are you able to trust yourself when you are sick that you really are sick?

If I have been manic for a little while. I usually make an appt. with my Psych when this happens.

What is your longest period of stability?
