My son has been on abilify for a month now. He is having horrible side effects and wants off it. Is it safe to go cold turkey or does he need to decrease his dose gradually.

Please call your physician and/or your pharmacist in order to be on the safe side.

I hope your son feels better soon.

It is impossible to get in contact with his pdoc. And our pharmacist is gone till monday. I think we will just take him off slowly over the weekend. He is only on 2.5 mg. We will keep him on that dose till I can talk to our pharmacist. Thanks for the replies.

It is not advisable to go cold turkey especially Abilify. See his pdoc first.
