I was doing better than I have since I was diagnosed, home with the kids, but mood stable, going back to school, hopeful for the future. My anxiety wasn't under control, but moods were stable. Then I had EPS from my latuda, and p-doc is taking me off of it and changing my meds all around. Now i'm on zyprexa, (gained 5 lbs in two weeks) and two other drugs just to counteract the EPS, and getting more depressed and feeling like I was an idiot to think i could actually handle going to college and re-entering work. The Latuda was like the magic pill for me, four years stable, no sedation which i have had on every other drug. it sucks that i can't take it anymore. My memory is shot to hell with all these drugs, I can't communicate clearly, and i'm depressed and social anxiety is through the roof. What now?

I was in a similar situation. I was on invega for three years and amazingly stable on that and emsam. Then I developed high prolactin, which led to a 70lb weight gain, which led to metabolic syndrome. Besides that, I began to have jaw clenching issues. So I had to go off of it. We tried latuda as monotherapy and that was an absolute disaster. Anxiety through the roof and hypomanic/mixed episode. So I called my pnurse and demanded something different. I'm am now on the combo seen in my signature. It was tough going from two meds to four, but it is what it is.
If you're not doing well on zyprexa and you've given it enough of a chance, call your doctor and let them know. You shouldn't have to suffer. __________________ Of course it is happening inside your head. But why on earth should that mean that it is not real? -Albus Dumbledore That’s life. Sometimes the depression/anxiety returns a bit while your body is adjusting to a new medication regimen.
Give it some time, and let your pdoc know __________________ Wellbutrin 150mg 2x day Rexulti 1mg AM Viibryd 40mg AM Xanax 1mg as needed Lamictal 300mg PM Adderall 30mg 2x day as needed |

Let your doc know how you are feeling. I'm so sorry this happened.....I'm so sorry you have victory in your grasp and the meds stopped serving you. I hope the Zyptexa works for you but weight gain seems almost a given for most folks who take it. I too felt ready for school recently.....I had planned to start for the Fall semester but I was overloaded with stress which I fought so hard but then crashed into sickness and depressed misery. Now I'm fighting again and hoping I can start next semester. I was so disappointed I couldn't go......it's not the first time my illness has gotten in the way. You just got to keep fighting and hoping and dreaming. I would be lost without my dreams of getting better.......please keep fighting. I hope the neurological symptoms go away.....that must have been scary.

I'm sorry you're having such a tough time. Definitely let your pdoc know what's going on. Hang in there. Don't give up just yet. Sending big hugs.
