Hi everyone. I'm Laurie and I'm a 27 year old woman. I live with bi-polar II disorder and OCD. I've been in treatment 9 years and my life is finally getting back on track. I'm going back to college with a new goal and a new-found self esteem. I came here because my dad told me about it - he has depression and comes to these forums often. I thought it'd be great to know some people who understand what I have been through and what I still go through. My doc and I have found a really good med combo for me along with regular therapy and despite the fact that my family just hit a really hard time, I'm doing better than I have been in years. I have a weight issue that started when I began treatment and its been an uphill struggle. I live with my parents right now for financial reasons and that is tough, but we do what we have to do. Anyway, I'd love to talk to you guys!

Hey -

Welcome, living with BP can be a task. But it can be done. Glad that you found the right meds combo, that can be half the battle along with good therapy.
