This forum is so huge, so I thought I'd say hello here in the Bipolar section.

I'm in my mid-twenties, diagnosed last year with Bipolar 2. I have psychotic features as well but haven't told the doctor about them yet... I'm intending to, tomorrow. Bipolar has been a part of my life for about eight years now and depression for a lot longer.

I'm not in a very good place right now, a lot of stress with possibly moving house, possibly leaving my church, my supervisor at work retiring soon, and it's bringing out some psychosis I haven't dealt with before, and that does scare me. The thought of taking antipsychotics scares me too though.

Right now I'm taking divalproex (Epival) 500mg and Wellbutrin 150 mg.

I live in rural Canada and have a part-time job in town, and my life isn't really all that interesting.

Well, thanks for all the welcomes!

I saw my pdoc today and he started me on a low dose of risperidone, but wants to see me for an hour-long appointment in a couple of days.

I'm starting to wonder if he's thinking of changing my diagnosis.

Welcome to PC! Please be completely honest with your pdoc...it will only hurt you if you aren't...wrong diagnosis...wrong meds...
