Talk about frustration.... I've gone through so many different medications, different doctors, even different diagnosis that I have given up every time. I am currently not taking any meds, nor have I in months, and managing to live without them. I always thought that if I could stand to be off the meds, then the best thing for me to do was stay off of them, but these days I am reconsidering that. I guess I am just simply lost. I've yet to meet a doctor that actually gave a damn about me, it has always been like try this, or this, or this and pay your bill on the way out. Is that the way it always is? My last doctor had me on lithium, which I had a reaction to, and then wouldn't return a phonecall when i called his service worried to death about what I should do. I don't know, maybe my expectations are too high these days. In any event, thankyou for letting me vent.

Your concerns are very valid....sometimes doctors and patients do not click.
I am forunate that my pdoc and my T are very caring people and take my needs seriously.
Ask around....some one may know someone that you can click with....
my current concotion is: Limictal and abilify (haven't been taking the other stuff) oh yeah and clonopin.
Seems to be working well.

It's hard to find a psychiatrist. I finally have one that I trust, and that makes it a lot easier to stay on the meds.

The best thing I ever learned to do was to tell the therapist when I had a problem with something he said or did. If he can handle it, then he may be the one. If not, keep looking.

Best wishes. It's hard.

Thankyou both for the replies. Living in a basically rural area is nice, but this (lack of professionals) is one of it's drawbacks.

Its so hard to find a doc that you click with. I have been through different docs until I found the one who I could really work with. I guess just like with meds, it takes time to form a relationship with a doc.

Its true that you need to click with your pdoc but I think constantly "tweeking" the meds would irritate anyone....its frustrating!
Good luck!
