I read that stress can make dystonia worse and I've definitely been under a lot of stress. My son's mental health, sick kids, one of them up all night throwing up. I've barely gotten any sleep the last 3 nights and I'm just a mess. Taking care of 3 kids when I can barley move is beyond hard. Sorry for all the whining but I don't have anyone else to talk to.Except for my husband and I don't want to stress him out even more with my complaining. He is exhausted too.

You have some very challenging things going on. I am sorry the dystonia is back.

Is there anyone who can help you by maybe taking the children for a night or two this w/e?

Much love to you and to your family.
Please take care.

I don't want to spread their germs to another family. My husband is here so I will go lay down in a bit and let him take over. Thanks for caring WC... It really helps to know people care.

I took a PNR last night that is notorious for negative side effects... shaking, stiff muscles ect. I think thats probably why I am hurting today. I do know I need a good sleep and hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow. my son is doing better so that is relieving. Thanks for the reply. I'm so a thankful for the reply. You support me.Thank you.

It's a new day, and a better day! I got a solid 10 hours of much needed sleep last night. I'm still a little sore but much better than yesterday. Kids are on the mend and my oldest son is feeling much better. He also got in to see his pdoc next week. He wants him on strattera (sp?) but our insurance doesn't cover it and it is very expensive. So we'll see what other ideas he has.

Glad you are feeling better today please explain to your doctor that your insurance doesn't cover stratera. Doctors tend to fall in love with the new meds. Insist that he presribe an alternative that is affordable.

Sorry...I had to look up "dystonia." It sounds like one of the Baltic countries (Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Dystonia...). Now that I know what it is, I must say it sounds horrible. I'm certainly glad you're experiencing some relief! The fact you got 10 hours sleep is a pretty good indication of just how exhausted you were. I hope the improvement continues.
Thanks for this!

The dystonia is just getting worse. So I called my pharmacist and told him I took a haldol a couple days ago and it instantly brought my dystonia symptoms back. He said it takes 40 days for haldol to completely leave your system! 40 freaking days? You have GOT to be kidding me!

I am also prone to dystonia. It's very frustrating.

My pdoc had to appeal to my insurer for any stimulant coverage.
Your son's pdoc may need to appeal.

I am thinking of you.

The half life of so many psych meds is crazy.. I hope you find relief very very soon , This has to be horrific for you to deal with
