A few people have suggested I see one for my dystonia. I'm not convinced because I know the cause and can not change it. They would probably just tell me to go off the shot but that would be a huge disaster as it the only reason I've been stable. I dunno... what do you think?

Is there anything your pdoc can describe to help with the dystonia?
Thanks for this!

Neurologists deal with all types of dystonias and may have more treatment options.

Of course another doctor will think the simplest solution is to discontinue the med; however, once you tell them you feel strongly you must stay on the med, they will then discuss any dystonia treatment options.

You report suffering a lot with dystonia. I think a consult with a neurologist is worth a try. I would see a neurologist if I were suffering with dystonia.

Just my own humble opinion.

I am concerned about you.

I've tried all the side effect meds available and some of them will take the edge off or even take the pain away for a little while. I had about 2 weeks when I had no pain at all and it was wonderful. But then I made the mistake of taking a haldol. My pharmacist and pdoc both told me that is why the dystonia came back. It takes weeks for haldol to leave your system. So I'm just waiting for it to be out and I will feel better. Fingers crossed.

I hope you find more permanent relief soon.

I know dystonia is very painful, as I am prone to dystonias, myotonias, myoclonus, etc. I have an underlying muscular dystrophy, which was diagnosed by the neurologists after I'd had frequent dystonia with meds.

I hope you remain comfortable!
