Its a depressant, Can affect your breathing especially when sleeping. Lots of people have passed away this way using any benzos

Yeah, it's awful risky stuff. I've tried Benzos for a week now because APs appeared they were giving me the long - term shakes. Dystemporal Tremens.

I was on Risperidone, which, while limiting, kept me out of bar fights and beating my family.

Since we dropped the APs, pdoc has suggested benzos. They have done nothing for my anxiety or aggression.

They have however, turned me into a doddering person unfit to drive or walk stairs without assistance. We're I to swing on someone, I should likely miss and suffer the consequences.

Benzos don't work for me and I am now weaning myself off of them. There must be an AP that does the same job as Risperidone without the monumentally dreadful side effects of benzos

I worry for my girls, I worry for my house. These drugs are the end off the world.

I bless you all without the Mental Illnesses I survive, and please, I am unwilling trio hear denials of them or what they are. We must all cope with our limping legs and our diabetes, Ann's d none of hangs on them to skirt of superman.

So... let me tell you frankly what BP2 can do. It's a genetic illness by the way, evere the kid has a 30-40% of catching it. 80% of us turn up alcoholics
Thanks for this!

I’m glad you’re ok. 16 mg of Klonopin is a lot (I’ve been guilty of that as well). You just need to be careful because it can shut down your respiratory system and put you in cardiac arrest. Sending big hugs.

My mom needed to take more and more of the Ativan and ended up with a problem and worsening depression because of it. I agree—be super careful. It became a bigger problem than she was trying to treat in the first place.

I've been taking 2 mg a day for anxiety once a day as needed. It works, but it makes me very sleepy. I have to admit it scares me being on it at all. I want to get off of it. There has to be some better alternative, but I don't know what the heck it would be.

Whatever you're dealing with, it sounds very rough.

Do you have any grounding skills you could use the next time you get anxious like this? 16mg is very high.

I do have grounding skills but I don't use them very often. It's easier to just take a pill to make my anxiety go away. I don't really know why I took so much. It's been a stressful month and I just wanted to escape for awhile.

Be CAREFUL! 20mg is the maximum dose but that's generally only used IP. You could experience respiratory/cardiac arrest and long term use can lead to addiction and a worsening of all your symptoms.
Benzos should only be used PRN for 4-6 weeks and many doctors are now refusing to even prescribe them because of the very real risks.

So 16mg. of Klonopin is an overdose. I'm very familiar with K-pin.

If you're making a habit of taking so much you need to recognize that there is a good chance you will suffer respiratory failure.

I'm not going to take that much again. I know it's dangerous. I usually just take one a day if even that. Some days I don't take any at all. It just depends on my anxiety.

I took 16mg. They were 0.5 mg pills. But as I said earlier I won't be doing that again. My actual dose is 1mg a day.
