I have always heard if you slowly turn up the heat frog legs do not "jump" as they would if put in a already hot pan ... (maybe an urban legend - but illustrates my point) ... I wonder if you can get so used to your condition as to lose perspective ... ie .. being deeply depressed but feeling like your ok because it has been your norm for so long ...
I seem to remember a time when I wanted to leave the house during the weekends ... when I did not spend all day sat and sun watching SoonKyu videos ... skipping some meals because it is just too much trouble to find something to eat .. I must have become very good at "hiding" because my new T has seen my bp .. and now sees ptsd in the mix ... we talk about my obsession ... but never once has depression come up .. go figure .... (or maybe I am not depressed) ... Love ... Tigger |

My pdoc/T thinks I have no idea when I am hypo or just "normal," because I have become so accustomed to depression, I think depression is my "normal." I, therefore, think my "normal" is hypo.
Yes, I think it happens. ![]() WC

Yes, I do think that happens. I spend so much time in depression that I can't even tell I'm depressed most of the time if the depression is mild to moderate. I'll get to thinking it's normal mood. I can only really recognize severe depression.
Much like WC, I have difficulty in distinguishing normal from hypo too. I'm not sure which is which. |
