How long do your depressive/manic phases usually last? I'm into an episode now and am wondering if it will ever go away.

I hope you recover soon.

I have BPII. Depressions last 1 year or more for me... and repeat.

The longest manic episode I had was almost a year... I managed to completely destroy My life. But now that I'm on good meds I cycle very rarely. My episodes don't even last one week at a time.

Last mania was almost constant for a long or so. Meds knocked it away. Depression can be months

I used to get depressed for several months at a time and then hypomanic for maybe a week. Since getting better meds, episodes are usually a week or less.

I cycle every two weeks off meds. On invega my hypomania went away but the depression did not and would last for a couple of months. Had to get ECT twice.

I went off invega in June and have been struggling ever since. Went manic/mixed on latuda in July/August. Kicked mania’s *** with depakote. Went depressed for two weeks. Fought back with emsam. Went stable for four weeks. Back to depression for two, now back to hypo today. I’m hoping it’s just a one day thing. It’s tiring.

I feel like I have no normal length. A year and a half ago I was crazy rapid cycling and that’s when my bp was at its worst. But since then it’s been long months of depression and quick manic episodes.

Generally my moods last 2wks to 4 months. If they're 4 months IP is part of it.

I don't feel mine have any consistent length. Untreated they'll go on for months or even years. Since I've been seeing a pdoc and on meds, they are much shorter more like a few weeks to a few months. It seems like I have more frequent but less severe episodes now.
