following on from the other thread about nice things said to you, what is something nice you've said to someone else?
i'll start- when I was at school, someone wanted me to attend the school christmas play with her. I didn't like her at all, but knew no one else would probably go with her (she constantly smelled, and people often teased her), but I said i'd go with her- despite regretting it later. |

When I was giving a reference for a friend, when they asked me if she had any weaknesses, I said I couldn’t think of any. I talked about how productive she is, and how she managed deadlines so well with high-quality results. They offered her the job within a few hours!

Well, I guess I've said and done a number of good things throughout my life along with some bad ones.
When I was a little kid, I was usually always nice to the bullied or least popular kids. I remember helping this one little girl who was always teased because she was very overweight. But then her mother invited a few kids to a birthday party of hers, and I refused. I now feel bad about that even though it's probably over 42 years ago. Then later I befriended the least popular girl in the class at another school. That eventually ruined my chances of popularity, but I didn't mind because I had a lot of ballet friends. But when I quit ballet I ended up with no friends at the high school. Even that least popular "friend" ditched me. I was devastated about quitting ballet and being completely alone. That, I believe, sparked my first major bipolar episode. It was such a bad breakdown that the school guidance counselor recommended I go to private school. I did, and that helped. I found many friends there. I guess as a young woman my best words were declarations of love to my first love and my now husband. I always showed great love for my siblings and parents, too. When I was 34 my mother was dying of cancer and the last thing I said to her was that I would love her forever. I and do/will. As for more recent nice things said, I guess I must mention how I compliment and show adoration for my psychiatrist. I really do admire and adore the man. I often tell him in various ways. He usually just remains silent, but he shows his doctorly affection towards me in small ways. I have also had the best therapist I've had in my life these past 4 years. I'm a little tough on her sometimes, but I do respect and appreciate her. I have told her in various ways these things and I know she appreciates them. My husband is my true love, and has stuck by me through thick and thin since knowing me these past 22 years. I guess I've said and done thousands of wonderful things to him, as he's done for me. |
