Does anyone notice their moodiness gets worse as the day goes on? I'm trying to figure out why this happens.

I'm not a good sleeper, actually I am a terrible sleeper. So my pdoc increased my Risperdal from 1 mg to 2 mg, and I went from no effect from 1 mg to extreme drowsiness on 2 mg. I am a night owl, mainly because I need alone time and I can't get it until everyone in my house is asleep. Which means I'm already not liking the 2 mg because I would have to go to bed by 10 p.m. to be able to get my kids up for school in the morning. I would have almost no down time if I did that, so I already have not taken it consistently.

I say that because I'm sure my inconsistent sleep contributes to my moods. But whether I get no sleep or a ton of sleep because I took the Risperdal, my moods always get worse as the day goes on. I am at home with my husband during the day, trying to get our home-based business off the ground. Sometimes I can get work done, lately I haven't been getting much done, but by the time I'm ready to pick my girls up around 3:15, my moods have already started to plummet. I'm more depressed, more irritable, and more prone to crying spells. I'm also tired whether I slept well the night before or not.

Does anyone else go through this? My husband thinks getting plenty of sleep is crucial, I know it is. My mood is usually better in the morning after a lot of sleep, but it's just further I crash later in the day, since I always crash regardless of my sleep. I just just don't get it.

I can relate. Anytime after lunch time, my mood starts to decrease over the course of the day until I feel myself crash. My sleep is also off, and I am a night owl.
I dread that time of the day in the afternoon where I get really irritable. I also get crying spells. Sorry you're experiencing this. (((Hugs)))
