Emotions may seem in our heads but they cause real life ups and downs. When in college I dropped classes every fall and aced classes every spring many without taking the final as I have bipolar one with a seasonal pattern . I super succeed as with 2 degrees with honors and then fall as is the case now with being 100% permanent and total through the military and social security. I feel awful about myself because I can never be consistent. Can anyone relate?

I can relate. I cannot be consistent from day-to-day. I have too many medical conditions and too many complications. It's very frustrating.

I was like that. I started to just take the spring/summer semester classes but by the time I figured it out it was to late and I used all my financial aid up. I see the same thing in my son. Maybe you can take less classes or easy courses in the fall ? If you live in the dorms they have special accommodation to let you live on campus while taking part-time course load.

Thank you for your service!

I am a veteran as well, so I know it can be difficult to go from an achiever to dropping classes and being on SS.

It is excellent that you have realized a pattern in your symptoms. If you have VA healthcare (or other healthcare), I suggest you partner with a doc that can tailor a medication plan to help you with the anticipated changes.

No one is super consistent, don't beat yourself up!

I’m very sorry......I understand all too well how the lost potential can haunt a person. The way I see it though, you could be worse off......you could never have accomplished anything because you were too ill. Be proud of your service and your degrees.
