To keep the dystonia away I need two side effect meds. But one of them is making me really slowed down and stupid. Can barely carry on a conversation. So I stopped taking it, but now my pain is coming back. What do I do?

Do you know whether the drug that’s making you slow and “stupid” will quit doing this after awhile? You might ask your pharmacist or pdoc. I’m sorry you’re having so much trouble with your meds.
Thanks for this!

I think I’ve been stupid long before meds and my episodes can make me stupid too. I would have to choose pain relief if the pain is bad enough it’s a no brainer sadly......I can’t think at all when pain is high.....or all I can think about is the pain. I can’t really tell you what to do, just share what I would do given the situation. Im so sorry you are hurting and suffering with side effects.

Can you cut it in half or take a lower dose?

Sometimes side effects calm down after a while. Maybe you could build up slowly?
Thanks for this!
