Does anyone take Trazodone? I’ve been taking it for almost month and I’m having awful vivid nightmares most nights. I wake up anxious and frighten and go back to sleep just to have another one. Does anyone else experience this?

I’m also on Geodon, tonight I’m thinking of trying to sleep with just the Geodon.

Also have you experienced weight gain?

Yes, Trazadone gave me vivid nightmares but worse, it sedated me through the day and impaired my thinking.

I have been on trazadone for a couple of years now, can't get much sleep without it.
I did have very vivid dreams and nightmares for a while and still do occasionally
but for the most part they have subsided. I never had the problem with being sleepy
throughout the day but I have heard others say that they do.

I take Trazodone at night to help me sleep, too. Occasionally I have dreams that I am glad to find out were just dreams, but for the most part I am fine with it.

Trazadone helps a lot of people. It was a nightmare for me (so to speak). I took the recommended dose and had what felt like an overdose. A terrifying experience. I threw the stuff out.

I used to take it. I switched to low dose saphris because of the way trazadone made me feel the next day

It did nothing good or bad for me. I should have just taken a Tic Tac

It helps me sleep and I don't notice any more vivid dreams than usual. I only take 100 mg., more than that gives me a hangover the next day. It was useful for me but if it isn't for you, talk to your pdoc.

I take trazodone only 100mg when it was raised I got more vivid nightmares/terrors but I suppose that's ultimately true since I also have PTSD that leaves me paralyzed throughout the day from flashbacks!

I also asked the doctor to cut down on how much of another medication I was taking because it was making tired throughout the day which happened. Who knows what it was I am now sick and everything feels gross!

I took Trazodone and had incredibly vivid dreams/nightmares. Lasted about a week on it, then decided it wasn’t worth it. My sleep was so disrupted.

I take 100 mg at night and it does help me sleep, even though my meds don't kick in till about 1 AM (I take them at 9:30 PM). I have quite vivid dreams, only a few of which are disturbing; I dream a lot about my husband but those dreams are almost always good, with him looking healthy and happy again.
