Hello everyone,

I stay sleepy after getting 8-9 hours of sleep at night. If I don’t have to sub. I take my daughter to school return home and sleep some more. I take 20mg Ambien at night....10mg will not work.

How did Ambien work for you....did if linger in your system the next day???

That's a wicked high dose of ativan( lorazepam). That dose would be more in line with Valium (diazepam).

My PCP, pdoc, and four different pharmacists have advised me that they're unable to write or fill a prescription for Ambien for more than 30 (or 31) 10 mg tablets per month because it's a controlled substance. I've heard of people taking 20 mg a night and have always wondered how they get it; in other words, are my docs and pharmacist lying to me? Regardless, I'm a little relieved that they won't let me get more for three reasons: (1) I believe it's psychologically (if not physically) addictive, (2) I would use more than is recommended if it were possible, and (3) women are advised not to take more than 0.5 mg p.m. because they supposedly can't metabolize more.

I take 15-20 mg too and have no problem waking up.maybe you can do what I do, I cut one pill in half and take 15 mg mostly unless I have problems sleeping then I take the full 20 mg.

Ha 5 I'd never sleep on 5.

I take the 12.5 extended release Ambien, and have for 12 years. I feel fine when I wake up, and it wears off after 6 hours of sleep . I don't think that is what is causing you to sleep in the day time, but it might be everyone's bodies reacting differently? I drink also quite a bit of coffee in the morning.

I take 10 a night. I have taken it for years. No bad side effects . Works well unless I am manic. Then I have to take Antipsychotics and ambien and it still sometimes doesn't work.

20mg is a standard dose of Ambien. You might live in a FUBAR state like I️ do.

I woke up pretty good on Ambien. The lithium made me feel tired throughout the day however.
