I think I recently had my first mixed episode, lasting about 3 or 4 weeks. I ended up in the hospital 3 times. I was extremely depressed and hopeless and tired but also irritable and couldn't sleep well and my mind was going all the time. I was obsessing about suicide and attempted so that's why I kept ending up inpatient.

If you have mixed episodes what are they like for you? My psychiatrist says it's possible I had a mixed episode and I may have moved from a Bipolar II level to a Bipolar I. Which scares me a little. They tried a few meds and now I am on Vraylar and stable for the past week. Knock on wood.

I am sorry about your experience. I would not ever be worried or scared of a diagnosis. It does not suddenly mean you are different. Changing your name would not make you a different person.

I have had copious mixed episodes. I am not a doctor and we are not allowed to diagnose. But I will say I go through many of those things in my mixed episodes too. I have more agitated mania though, so that is very different. I do things that could get me hurt as opposed to your experience. Oh and I do things that can hurt others.

I do have some seriously homicidal, depths of despair, shame, hypersexual, recless, F*$&#@ the world thoughts and actions. Increased frustration followed by ugly crying.

I am super fun at work. I have not disclosed, but my manager seems to understand. He is very gentle with me and encourages me to take care of my needs. I suspect he may also struggle or someone close to him does, or he is the most understanding manager on the planet.
Thanks for this!

I'm going through a mixed episode right now. I can barley sleep more than 4 hours a night, I have so much pent up energy and I can't eat. It's driving me crazy. I hope we both feel better soon.

I have mixed episodes. Mine tend to be agitated, wanting to pick a fight, brain very racey and lots of SI.
