Had to switch to generic carbamazepine and I swear to god all I do is sleep now. Not cool. I was taking Equetro, the ER version of it. Now though I keep sleeping 10-15 hrs a night. Grrrrr. I don't like sleeping so much. Maybe if I had a better bed it would be ok but my bed sucks, and I wake up barely able to move. Anyone else have this issue on this med?

I am having this type of problem with a very different med.
It's very frustrating!

I called around and found some Equetro, so it's getting filled this afternoon thankfully. I just can't handle sleeping so much.

I have never taken brand name of Tegretol or Tegretol XR. I've only ever taken generic carbamazepine ER (the equivalent of Tegretol XR) for the full 7 years I've been on it.. I've never had any fatigue from it at all that I know of, and I take a fairly high dose at 1400 mg (600 mg in the morning and 800 mg at night). If I don't take my Seroquel XR at night I will have trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. Even my 500 mg of Seroquel XR allows me to easily sleep 8 hours per night and wake up normally.

Don't get me wrong, I have in the past had hypersomnia, but I always blamed it either on Seroquel XR and/or depression.
