Depakote was the absolute WORST for me, I gained so much weight on it. Even though it has been the best drug to treat my mania, I refuse to go back on it because of the significant weight gain, I am already overweight. I have never gained weight on Lamictal - the two are like night and day.

I have been on lamictal while losing over 40 pounds in the last few months. But I have also been taking wellbutrin. I think lamictal is weight neutral.

I am on lamictal and I never have gained weight on it. Actually, it did not keep me from losing 60 pounds.

Never gained weight on Lamictal, and I am on 400 mg. In fact, I lost a few pounds. I think it's kind of rare to gain on it. My pdoc said it's weight neutral.

Lamictal was always weight friendly for me. I don't think it is known for putting weight on people.
