So does anybody who has the DBT bipolar book want to talk about what they learned from it? I took DBT for years to treat my PD but now I'm looking at it from the point of view of bipolar and I'm wondering what's going to be different.

That's interesting. I never thought about it being any different.

I agree, I suspect it wouldn't be any different. Although -as I understand it- DBT was created for use for those with Borderline Personality, the same skills would translate for use for Bipolar patients; in fact, I would think that it would help just about anyone to have those skills in their toolbox for dealing with what life throws at us, whether BP symptoms or other challenges.

DBT is being used for a lot of mental disorders now. Mindfulness in itself is used as a treatment.

I think it helps both. I have yet to meet a bipolar person that doesn’t have traits. Neurotypicals also have traits if we wanna nitpick that could benefit from DBT. it’s used in T. Although I didn’t go to a DBT group as per my living in bfe , it has helped me a lot what was done in my normal T.
