My Pdoc told me there were 51 different types of depression under the realm of Bipolar Disorder. My friend has a treatment resistant depression. It also has to do with the opioid receptors in her brain not working right. She feels flat 247. Pdoc wants to try her on a new controversial med for this sort of depression-subooxne. She's tried everything, for twenty plus years I say go for it. However finding insurance providers who will cover it is another matter. She just got out of hospital a week ago.

I have heard of the new trials of suboxone for treatment resistant depression which can occur even without bipolar
I'm curious to the 51 types of depression. Never heard that one. Tell him to print out a list for us!

Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand

I sympathize with your friend...if she has tried everything it may be worth it, BUT, suboxone is a MAJOR ***** to get off of, so I hope she's prepared and does her research on the costs and benefits. I am a former opiate addict and was on it for a year, and it save my life but the withdrawal was pretty damn uncomfortable.
I do have to say that my depression that year was better but I don't know if that is because my life wasn't so chaotic and in the depths of addiction.

How is your friend? I'm also trying suboxone for depression. I know it's a ***** to get off of. So is any SSRI, which is why I will take them for life. I plan to take this suboxone for life as well. Please leave an update.

hey, I was just in the psychiatric medication forum and I saw a few posts about suboxone and depression. You can also check there for some info. I bet searching in that forum would yield more results.
