I'm going to start volunteering for a lady running for congress in my district. I will be doing some data entry for them. I'm excited. I did A LOT of data in 2016. This time though I won't be up till 12 AM doing data though. lol. I hope they're using VAN (don't ask me what that stands for). They invited me to a meet and greet with the candidate on Monday but it's from 6-8pm and I can't drive at night, so I'd have to get an Uber, plus there's the whole possibility of passing out at 7:30. The guy I talked to on the phone sounded more excited about it than me. ha

I volunteered for meals on wheels. It was great because it was only one day a week for a couple of hours. I wasn't too well then. I got to know the seniors and formed caring relationships with them. There was no pressure either. Good luck volunteering...very rewarding.

Today is the day. Man I'm nervous. My husband said as long as I don't walk in naked and light myself on fire, I won't be the craziest person they've dealt with since starting the campaign. hahahaha. It'll be ok. I just get nervous about new things. I'm going to swing by church on the way there and pick up a box of photos and a scanner so I can start scanning photos for them too. I guess I'm gonna be busy for a while.

Yay! So happy for you, Mo! I think this will help you keep your mind off other things going on right now.

I do believe you will be able to handle this volunteer work. They will be flexible to your needs. I think they will be happy to have you there helping them as a volunteer. They can use all of the help ther can get.

I am thinking of volunteering myself with this group who salvages or fixes personal computers. If I stay doing this long enough, the company will set up a PC of my own. They also have volunteers who help others to use the PC. This will add structure to my life and allow me to be productive, the first time in two decades. If this works out, then I will search for an actual paying job.

Volunteering went fine. I was merging voter records today. I'm going back next tuesday at 1PM. They're going to canvass this weekend so they said they'll have a lot of data to input. They asked me if I wanted to canvass, but I don't really like talking to people. Would rather stick to data and stuffing envelopes. lol.

That’s great that it went well. I’d love to do some volunteering again but I can’t seem to stay episode-free long enough to scratch myself

I survived day 2 of volunteering. Apparently my eyes get blurry after 2 hrs of staring at the computer screen. It's the eye that's farsighted that gets blurry. I managed to do 2.5 hrs today. Going back on Thursday.

I volunteered again yesterday. Actually went to a lunch meeting the candidate had before going to volunteer at her house. I asked them if they could set me up with my own login for the system so I could do stuff at home and they said yes and that they'll email me the info but idk if they have the right email cause I never got an email. o.O I'm volunteering at church today. They need help putting up bulliten boards and data entry. My husband made the crack that I sure am doing a lot of unpaid work, but I'd rather volunteer. Less stress.

I'm an idiot. I'm going canvassing today for the campaign. I saw someone I met at the lunch in Trader Joe's and asked her if she still needed a partner and she didn't know yet, so I gave her my info and she texted me last night saying the girl that was gonna be her partner couldn't make it, so I guess I'm going. I need to keep my damn mouth shut. haha. My husband is being salty about it cause I never canvassed for him.

For people that don't know, canvassing is knocking on people's doors, asking them if they're gonna vote, and asking who they're leaning towards voting for and maybe trying to lean them towards the candidate you're working for. OH JOY. WHY DID I SAY I COULD DO THIS.
