My anxiety level about money is making my Bipolar worse. Yes it's true. It's one of the topics on here that I read.

With Bipolar I tend to spend more money than I would like too. I have a budget and I'm doing better at it. I pay all my bills on time but I have goals I can't reach because of my spending.

It's so frustrating. At the moment I'm in high anxiety mode and feel stuck, frozen, impatient and mad at myself.

I have to help a friend move today so I need to get off of this computer but I need to vent. I'm trying to learn and accept my limitations but it's so hard sometimes.

I need to be more self aware of my money. Remind myself how my spending was way out of control a couple of years ago and I have made progress. I'm on disability and can only work part time. If I work more hours I can meet my goals quicker but I can't. I have tried. I just want to be normal.

I've tried working more hours and then I can get in fight or flight mode and then I leave work early!!!!!!

Sincerely,

Lynn

What if you made a monthly list of EVERYTHING you spent money on. This list would include utilities, rent/mortgage, items you purchased, etc..And if you really want, you can write down exact costs. Then for every week, add everything up.

Hi bluecycle,

Thank your comment. I have all my bills written down on a monthly basis, so I know what my bills are. Problem is what I have left. I spend on coffee, shoes etc. So thanks for sharing with me I really need to keep track of what I spend my extra money on. Instead of buying coffee or shoes etc...I'll have to do with out so I can meet my goals.

Thank you,

bipolar and overspending.. I know it only too well.

yes.... so well, in fact, I got evicted from my own house for not paying the rent (no secret anymore, and I'm not embarrassed)

could you try setting yourself a budget?

or writing down a few things a week you think you might want

When I am manic I can spend thousands in a night. My wife controls all finances now.
