I ****ing hate being lied too.

last week, I wanted to have some alphabet potatoes with my meal and was told I couldn't have any because the company that makes them had gone bust.

well, wouldn't you know it.

I did some research in to them, (mainly just to annoy this person), and not only are they made by one of the most successfull food companies in history,
but they are sold really cheaply, too

they must have known they were going to be found out

wow

pissed off about that

I also hate being lied to. Just give me the truth, whatever it may be.

Sorry they lied. That sucks.

I used to have this same problem with my husband and kids. While I'm sure they were scared of how I might react if they told me the truth (I was very inconsistent), I got twice as mad when I found out I'd been lied to. I mean, I had screaming fits. But it didn't change for many years, in fact it wasn't until I was diagnosed and medicated that they felt I wouldn't overreact if they told me something bad. We don't have a problem anymore, of course my kids are all grown now and sometimes they even tell me stuff they did when they were young that I didn't know about, and we just laugh over it. Like my 35-year-old daughter who got two minor-in-possession charges when she was 17 and 19. She was still living at home at the time and somehow she managed to hide it from me. I must have been totally oblivious.

Bingo ... same here except they still will not rock my boat ... I have to ask ... if I am calm they will tell me ... but I am sure "sometimes" they still lie about it ....
