As the title says, my Grandma died Friday, the 30th. I'm struggling with this. She had just been in hospital. That was when all my aunts and uncles (and I) moved her out of her apartment. She got discharged from hospital to a nursing home. I was looking forward to stopping to visit with her on my way home from work. She died her second day there.

Ouch. I'm sure the pain is overwhelming right now. From what I've read of your comments here on PC, I'd imagine your grandmother was proud to have a grandson who was so supportive of others. It's hard to view things like this in the face of loss, but try to be as kind to yourself as you are to others at this tough time. Peace.

I am so sorry for your loss. I'm praying for you and your family. It sounds like you were close to your grandmother. I am so sorry. When someone dies suddenly, it is difficult to deal with. Mourn for her as you see fit, and remember the good times you had with her.

Do you have a tdoc? If so, it might be good to call and get an appointment in, just to talk about it.

Sorry to hear that. My grandparents (dad side) passed away in 1980 and I still remember most of my time with them. My grandfather was a retired school principal - we'd spend most of the weekend at their house. He would sit in his chair watching Lawrence Welk, smoking his Camel unfiltered cigarettes. I was the first grandson and he would always call me my dad's name or my uncles names before he got to mine. . My grandmother would make me Spaghetti O's for lunch with fresh buttered bread from the local bakery. I'd sleep over a lot and would get the King's treatment at breakfast. My dad would do yard work - I remember one time he cut through a yellow jacket nest in the shrubs and he sprinted down the street to get away. There were three sisters next door and they were all incredibly cute. I think this where I discovered the wonder of girls.

My other grandparents (mom) lived a bit longer. My grandfather was a bit of a WW2 hero - he was a sergeant in a minesweeping platoon with Patton's Hell On Wheels and he went back two miles behind enemy lines to save a fellow soldier trapped under a bridge. He loved to fish - one time, he took me fishing and we caught about 10 flounder, but he refused to help me clean them. I came back home with a trash bag of whole fish and my mom went ballistic. He showed up at the house 10 minutes later after receiving a well-placed phone call and cleaned the fish for me. Unfortunately, he was a also big drinker, don't think he ever recovered from the war, so he was in and out so to speak.

Anyway, great memories. Please keep your memories with you as well.
