Over! I've already quit taking 10mg and I'm down go 7.5mg now. I'm gonna. Quit taking it. The cogentin isn't helping this crap!

Unfortunately you seem to be caught between a rock and a hard place. You suffer badly with no meds and badly with meds
It’s a bugger that you get hit with side effects so badly. Is it dystonia again? And does it help splitting the dose over the day? For example my Seroquel dose is spread over four times a day.

Could your latuda go up and let the haldol stay lower? Obviously not a doctor but latuda shouldn't cause the dystonia, right?

I know it's frustrating to be on so many meds.

Maybe you can get something for the side effect problem from the pdoc or your regular doctor.

I’m so sorry you’re suffering

My t isn't happy I'm not taking my meds like I should be but I explained to him all the muscle spasms hurt so bad. He said I need to ask my dr for something else then. It was a helpful session. Looking to see a new pdoc maybe.

Oh yea....

Someone asked me why my t mentioned switching pdocs. He said it didn't seem that he gives me the attention or listens to me when I'm in crisis. Apparently I was "in bad shape" last week and needed further attention that what I got. I'm
Considering switching.

Cogentin didn't work for me either. I'm now taking Artane and it seems to help.

Have you ever taken Artane for side effects? Sorry if this has already been mentioned.

Please also consider trying 25-50 mg of Benadryl, as sometimes it is quite effective at relieving these symptoms and a good option if others have not worked.

I'm so sorry you have this. Cogentin is the go-to med but doesn't always work.

Let us know how you are doing.

Do look into the Artane and/or Benadryl if you are not familiar with these two meds being used for dystonia side effects.

I discourage discontinuing the Haldol abruptly, but maybe consider taking 5mg (since you already made one decrease to 7.5) until you can talk to doctor next?

I see my pdoc next week and I don't know if I wanna call and ask to change to another med or wait til
I see him.

Iv'e had dystonia off and on for years. Horrible pain. I'm so sorry you are experiencing this. The only thing that works for me is procycliclidine. It's hard to get in Canada, but hopefully easier to get where you live. Without it I can't even get out of bed without help. And all AP do this to me.

Look in to Benadryl and try it, if that's something you can take. 25-50mg if on Haldol will often help the dystonia somewhat. Cogentin usually works, it hasn't for you.

If that doesn't work, talk to MD about Artane (and mention the Benadryl), that is another possible option.

I also wonder if a small temporary dose of diazepam might fix this problem.

Did you take the Haldol last night, or no?

And I think you are seeing MD today?

Let us know how that goes.

Sorry, I misunderstood the MD appointment.

Did you take the Haldol last night, or no?

Have things improved today?

If not, I would call and bring up those 3 that I mentioned (Benadryl, Artane, Diazapam). They may have other ideas too. Most MDs are OK will calling things in, between appointments.

If you start something new now, you'll have a handful of days to see what your body's response is. Then can review it in person with MD.

If the Haldol is important to your stability, I hope you haven't stopped it completely.

I'm so sorry that you've been having problems with dystonia.

It is very uncomfortable, but treatable.

I hope you are able to get a resolution asap.

Thanks.
I did take it last night and today and I'm doing better. I've also looked into possibly seeing s new psychiatrist.
